Nowadays, piracy as one of crimes at sea has formed in different ways compared to the historical counterparts. On past, act consisted first approaching ship, then fighting it, and finally seizing it before escaping another vessel. Meanwhile, recent times, more sophisticated kinds are launching their assaults with help cutting-edge technology. However, due UNCLOS's restricted definition piracy, is challenging combat such modern forms. According experts, greatest barriers tackling its vague definition. This research aims analyse applicability UNCLOS maritime considering new developments. method consists doctrinal library-based research.
